Whimsy Play Cafe - Buffalo Grove

I brought my 18 month old son today. It’s our first time and my baby has a great time. The place is clean, lots of toys and play area and great place for parents to enjoy some good food and coffee while watch the kids play. Coming back regularly.

I used to like bringing my kids here to play, but never again! We came Sunday morning at 11:30 and my 3 year old was so excited. They have NO SIGN on the door that there is a private party and told us we had to leave. My daughter was really upset. They told us to look on Facebook. It's much easier and makes so much more sense to also HAVE a sign at the door to please not come in there is a private party. I took her shoes off and she was already playing when I went to pay and was told we can't be here. Seriously bad BAD BUSINESS, not smart. Never coming again, and telling my friends my experience.

This is a beautiful facility with high end and unique toys and play area! Bright and colorful and very clean! It was a treat to have lunch there as well and the lunch was excellent! I had a caprese salad that was fresh and very tasty! My son had a chicken panini that he enjoyed. My grandson was smiling the whole time he was there. Would highly recommend this place for young children and parents will be very comfortable there! You do need to take off your shoes as well as the children so wear socks -and this is a nice touch for cleanliness. The bathroom was meticulous and had baby supplies if you might need them.

Great place for kids to play on days off of school, cold days, rainy days. Very clean. Just get there early. They don’t allow outside food so eat up before you go if you don’t want to shell out extra cash for food.

Great place to meet for a playdate! The place is small which I consider a positive; having two kids I could easily see what my 4 year old was doing while sitting nearby with my baby. A lot of benches and sofas for the adults. My daughter really loved the slides and ride-on vehicles. They also have cute play areas like a bakery, construction area, etc. My daughter was not interested in that, but enjoyed a good few hours with the slides and ride on toys. There is an under 2 area (but even the babies have to wear socks so come prepared). They also have board games and books for older kids and a designated area for snacks (you cannot bring in outside food which is common for most play places). They do sell some more unique snacks, but on the more pricey side. They also sell toys and have a good selection of interesting items. Everything is clean and well cared for. Friendly staff. The woman working even helped my daughter on one of the climbing poles because I had my hands full at the moment. It started to get crowded at one point and a little louder, but overall great experience. We will return when we need an indoor place to play or meet a friend.
