Yessica's - Brookings

The food is okay but very highly priced, service was really bad no manners at all I have to ask for simple things like napkins and a forks, waiter should be more attentive, plus he brought the bill without even asking if we need something else, very bad service!!

We picked a random restaurant. We are not from Brookings and want to try a local place. It is a small store front. We didn't expect much. However, it was delicious! I chose the chicken tortellini and it was probably the best I have had in years. We all enjoyed our food. Well done!

The food at Yessicas is consistently excellent, but the service leaves much to be desired. I waited 20 minutes for sugar for my iced tea and an entire hour for my meal. It seemed like the waiter was more focused on catering to customers who were ordering drinks, ignoring everyone else. Meanwhile, other tables were given complimentary chips and salsa, but when I inquired about it, I was told at the register that they had run out. The waiter's indifferent and unapologetic demeanor was clear when I mentioned this while paying; he didn't seem to care or listen at all. I have no problem tipping for good service, but his attitude cost him a $40 tip. This kind of treatment ensures that I won't be returning anytime soon. I spoke with another customer who ordered takeout, and she mentioned that their service has declined, which is why she now prefers takeout. Perhaps that's the management's goal, given my experience. Again, the food is fantastic, but I recommend opting for takeout instead.

One of the best places I've ever tried in South Dakota! I'm not usually a big fan of steak, but the tomahawk at Yessica's is truly something special! I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in. The manager welcomed us at the entrance and was very kind, offering recommendations and taking our drink orders. Our waitress was also very helpful, explaining the wine menu and answering all our questions, even though they were quite busy. I will definitely be coming back!

I visited this restaurant thinking it would be a nice place to eat, but I definitely cannot recommend it! While my food was decent, my boyfriend had a bad experience with his lobster enchiladas. The first one had an off taste and odor, reminiscent of rotten fish. The second one was even worse, as the lobster chunks were brown and hard. After just one bite, he rushed to the bathroom to be sick. We ended up spending over $50 on a meal that could have been much better. Now, half an hour later, he's still dry heaving, feeling nauseous, running a fever, and experiencing severe abdominal pain. All of these symptoms appeared almost immediately after he took a bite.
