It has been about seven months since my first visit to Guzman y Gomez Buranda and I was very hopeful that they had worked through their issues. Was planning to order the usual - Shredded Beef for me, Spicy Steak for Lady Meatball and a Little Guys Burrito for Mini Meatball - but when I got to the front of the line the staff advised me that the 'chef' strongly recommended their special, a grilled steak and lettuce burrito. Thus, we ordered two of the special and a Little Guys Chicken Burrito. The steak was chewy and lacked flavour, plus the beans and rice were both undercooked. Lady Meatball loaded up with Cilantro and Smoky Chipotle Salsa, so overcame the lack of flavour, but neither of us finished our burritos. These rated 1.5. The chicken in the little guys burrito was dry and overcooked. Mini Meatball ate the tortilla with cheese, but wouldn't eat the chicken. I decided to help her out, then passed on it myself. This rated a 2. This is definitely the first time parts of three burritos ended up going to my dogs. Not sure why, but the Buranda location just can't get their act together. If only it weren't so convenient...I shop at the Woolworths right next door! ***** September 2016 Rated 2.5 I love Guzman y Gomez, but the Buranda Village location is still fairly new and they are clearly still working out the kinks. The rice and beans in my burrito were both undercooked. The overall product was substandard for GyG. That said, the location is extremely convenient if you shop at the Buranda Woolworths, so I will undoubtedly give them another try to redeem themselves.
