I've been coming here since the 80's when my mum could scrape together enough for a weekly treat. In those days, people didn't have the disposable income we have now and every meal was cooked at home. (I even had a fortnightly tuck shop treat when I was good! ) I was really pleased when I moved back into the area a number of years ago and saw the cod father was still in business. There's new owners and a refurb but it's still serving up perhaps the best fish and chips on the north side in my books. I'm not visiting weekly these days as there are soooo many eating places and soooo little time but every couple of months - I'll swing by and pick up a burger with the lot and $3 minimum chips - it still hasn't disappointed.

Went in and ordered a Burger and had some Calamari as well. Good food and friendly staff. Also, has a nice outdoor area to eat and free wifi for all customers which is helpful.

If your l;oooking for simple old stock standard fish and chips than you cant go past The Cod Father. Always the same and you know exactly what you are going to get wich is rather comforting.. The do absolutely awesome burgers and i highly suggest the steak burger with the works..

I love the CodFather. The steak burger with the lot is second to none. It has it all, it's fresh and it's cheap!! Do yourself a favour.
