I have reviewed this restaurant previously but it has changed - a lot! This restaurant changes its name more times than I change my underpants. The food is average pub food - Ok for the price. However the new owners have changed the service and significantly reduced the food options. I went there for lunch regularly - I could buy my lunch and order a drink and someone would bring both to my table together with a carafe of water. The last few times I went there the lady who seemed to be in charge and who was mildly offensive took my order for food but said she could not take my drink order there despite them doing this for 3 years previously. She blamed accounting practices but it was a modern electronic till so that was rubbish. She made me traipse through the bar to order a drink. I did not get the water I asked for with my food. My last visit was over a month ago and I will not return until it changes hands again or they respect their customers more. i have been going to the RSL which is wonderful.

Had dinner here on a weeknight. Its sort of half pub, half bistro in its set up and feel. The food was great and very reasonably priced, but the real stand out was the service. Fast, super friendly (without being disingenuous or intrusive). Good for big groups or small and they have a nice outdoor area although it was a bit cool the night we were there so we ate in. Definitely a gem in its genre.

Bar Staff very helpful. Lovely Venue. Took my mum we had a lovely time. Mum as a child used to holiday at Sandgate! Lived up to expectations, the lunch menu was well and truly covered with many choices including vegetarian. Our meals were excellent and I thought well priced, we will definitely be back. Although next time will venture to the Balconies upstairs for a pre drink! Definitely worth a visit.
