Dragonfly Cafe - Bracken Ridge

This place is a lovely, peaceful venue. Kids play area. No table service anymore. All orders placed at the counter. Very slow. Food way overpriced for a cafe and it's no better than other cafes around which are cheaper

At this time of the year the weather was great. The breakfast menu varied. Ordered at the counter with food arriving in a short time. The concept of pickled radish and onion was well intended but their flavour did not complement the avocado spread (too bland for my taste but my partner thought it was fine). An alternative recipe might be better. We had smoked salmon on top, which I was informed later, was smoked by the chefs themselves. I stand out in our eyes. Coffee was good and the staff friendly.

Had a surprise birthday lunch for 80 year old mum whos 2 favourite things are cooking and plants. Group of 12 adults and 3 children. Plenty of room for gathering. Kids playground was right beside us so they didn't get bored sitting around with adults but still able to be supervised. Food was basic but very nice although it was overpriced especially if you wanted to add extras to a burger. Staff were very friendly if a little slow, we did have to get their attention a couple of times, but once you did they were very prompt at taking orders and supplying food/drinks. It is an outdoor setting so be prepared for bugs and heat, but it is undercover with fans.

A lovely little surprise cafe in Aspley, with fine dining quality food. Sadly trust must be earned, we weren't sure if the food quality would meet the high prices but surprisingly food was beautiful with a lovely atmosphere and good service/staff. Sadly only a small menu for such a big kitchen.

Let's start with a warning that you should totally avoid this places in summer. We visited Eden Garden for breakfast toward the ends of February and it was extremely unpleasant - sweating and sticking to my chair is not how I want to start my day. There is a water table for customer use, however, the water was just as warm as I was. While there are fans, they did little to help. The service was not too bad, however, two specific breakfast request were completely ignored originally, the waitress was very apologetic and did return the plates to the kitchen and fixed up the mistake.The food was nice, seemed quite fresh. The price though leaves an unpleasant taste. We were a party of six and with one dish and drink each our bill came to just over $200, if it was worth the price tag, that's fine, but this was not.Unfortunately, we won't be back.
