Chengdu Taste Chinese Sunnybank Zī Wèi Chéng Dōu

Tried to call the restaurant all day to make a booking for a birthday dinner but no answer. We walked into an empty restaurant. I tried to get a table for 13 and the waiter there who also seemed to be the owner/manager had no interest at all in serving me. I was left standing there waiting while he tended to numerous delivery packets. Finally when i asked if they were open the waiter looked confused. He spoke no English whatsoever. I had to resort to my high school chinese and told him i wanted a table for 13. Seeing as the restaurant was empty, he could have easily put the tables together. To my shock horror, he declined to do so and made a waving motion to shoo me away. Since I already had guests coming, I literally had to plea with him to take 2 tables. I ordered a total of 17 dishes, all of which ranged from mediocre to extemely disappointing. Particularly the poached fish in sichuan sauce. It literally had less than 10 paper thin slices of fish. Nothing like the fish fillets they had in their pictures. The stir fried vegetable dish tasted like the veges were just taken out from the bin. I dont know what sauce they used but it had a sewer taste to it. Now, I'm vietnamese so I'm very familiar with all the pungent sauces like shrimp paste, fish sauce etc, but this tasted just foul. Ironically the only decent dish was decent was the sizzling mongolian beef (not even a sichuan dish). I'm a massive fan of Sichuan food and was looking forward to coming here for a long time. Extremely dissapointing.

Little disappointed this time round. Normally great meals. I think the chef left a lot of the spice seeds in the broth and making it unbearable. Will try a different meal next time and perhaps change my review

Previously frequented with family members, most recently because the men were recommended to friends for one time to find a bad experience! It is not good to say that we have a very bad service, and only at our table, the serviceman has always been sitting on a handicraft, and the clothes is not possible to replace or retreat from the service provider's feedback, the servicer has changed the wheel and has no choice but to say; the service is rather bad, and only at our table, the serviceman always sits on a handboard and the clothes are taken on his own; the beverages placed on the platoons are on the side of the seat, are staggered at 6 p. 730 p.m.

It was very good! ordered several cold dishes! absolutely amazing! will come back and visit again. Try the cold dish called: Spicy beef heart Tongue Slices! You won't regret!

Always fast and friendly service. Wonderful food and comfortable surroundings. Highly recommended.
