Bidrage med feedbackEggs Pontchartrain was lacking in all areas, especially the portion. The only good thing was the flavor of the small piece of trout, but I do recommend the other brunch dishes, as I sampled them from others in my group.Be prepared to spend $25+ to get a filling mealService was extremely slow and lackluster. Definitely a staffing issue.
Love the charm of the antiquity and modifications of Lucille’s. The house reminded me of the farmhouse my grandpa had before it was lost to a fire. This was our first visit to Boulder, the Farmer’s Market, and to a restaurant in Boulder. The dining arrangements are quaint. Be prepared for bumping elbows with surrounding tables due to the tight spaces. That is not the drawback. It adds to the mystery of thinking what it was like for the owners back before the turn of the century.Unfortunately the mid grade rating is due to the food and beverages. To start, the water tasted awful. ? My hot chocolate was luke warm at best. The beignets were overcooked and hard. The red beans and rice was dry and clumpy. It was a real disappointment. They also never brought my biscuit. The saving grace was the cup of gumbo that my daughter had. It was quite delicious.Maybe that day was an off day for the kitchen. I read plenty of great reviews. I am just letting you know our experience. Hopefully that was an isolated experience and others may continue to enjoy the charm of Lucille’s.
We have a Lucille's in Fort Collins and it's our favorite breakfast place! This was our first time in Boulder and it has the same feel/vibe. There to celebrate my aunt's 70th birthday. We waited for 2 hours for a table, we did have a larger party though. Most of us loved our food but not the shrimp grits or shrimp sandwich. We didn't have the friendliest server and didn't refill our coffee or water. It was still great but could have been better service. I prefer FoCo!!
Traveling from out of town with my mother. Decided to stop in for breakfast because we had been driving by this location. Service was good provided by Charlie. The food felt warm and comforting like home.
As a foodie who was born and raised in the southeast, I’m always skeptical of Colorado restaurants’ take on southern food, especially Cajun food (I’ve had some bad ones). But Lucile’s is probably the closest I’ve gotten to real Cajun food since moving out here. The beignets are perfect messy delicious as they should be! I got the Creole Breakfast, which was good. It was well seasoned the red beans and rice had a little bit of a twist with shredded pork added. The biscuits were okay, just not what I was expecting if you’re looking for a traditional buttermilk biscuit. The coffee was meh. The regular grits are bland under seasoned, so try the jalapeño cheddar grits instead! The atmosphere is cute. A great spot for brunch with friends or a significant other.
