Cafe Nicanor - Bogotá

Nicanor is a welcome place for those of us who visit the university campus in Bogotá. The area in general has very few good ways to eat, and Nicanor is an exception. It has basic items (breakfast eggs, sandwiches), generally of good quality, and... Menú del Día, a lunch Prix Fixe menu. There the quality is on and off. Her chefs are seriously trying to present the lunch creatively and sometimes to screw up something. They use good ingredients. Organic tomatoes, good meat, good poultry. Perhaps they try to over decorate their salads or dishes (the soups are usually excellent, though). But her salads and main thing... suffer from being over arranged. Not always. I found that if they do Koftas or meatballs, they are excellent. But if they are fantasies called chicken or meat... they are not always in line with their own ingredients. Besides these occasional bad days, Nicanor is an excellent place. It is also very same, with book readings, with good coffee and beer an excellent place to discuss an academic, or post academic.

I love it! Food is unique and exquisite. I'll be back. I really recommend the deserts as well as the atmosphere, very relaxing and comfortable.

I went there since they opened in 2011. They changed the location of the restaurant a few times. Actually, you can go in a precious traditional 70s house. Nice deco. Relaxing environment. About the food? Oh! It's just beautiful. Lunch is fantastic. The packs and sandwiches are perfect. And the coffee is the best made in Bogota. Really perfect. I love this place. Beside the largest public university in Bogota. It means that you will see a lot of students during the week. Very recommended.
