Avanti's - Bloomington

You must place your order and pay at the desk by the entrance. Your food will be delivered to your table, but you'll need to get your own drinks from a machine. I tried the Italian sausage sandwich, which consisted of a sausage patty. Unfortunately, it was quite bland and lacked flavor. The red marinara sauce served with it added a bit of taste, at least.

This restaurant consistently offers the best food in the area. I’m more than willing to drive an hour several times a year just to enjoy Avanti's! Their Gondolas are absolutely delicious!

Having to get up to fill my paper cup at the back of the restaurant made me feel like I was on the job, and asking for to-go boxes at the host stand felt uncomfortable too. I went out to enjoy a meal, not to work! I even brought a friend who had never dined there before, and I felt somewhat embarrassed by the situation. The only bright spot was that the food was hot and just as delicious as ever. As a devoted fan of Avanti's, I left feeling disappointed. I think it’s important to say that whatever changes you’ve made aren’t working for me. Unless things return to normal, I likely won’t dine in again, but I’ll continue to get takeout as long as the food remains good.

Used to be dining in and being waited on, but now you order at a counter and pay up front! Then you are seated! Meal came out 10-15 minutes later! Very fast and efficient for groups with kids!

Traveling thru, had good Google reviews so we stopped. I do not recommend at all, more of a fast foot Italian with no service at table. Plus food was very bland, and salad was iceberg with some dressing on the top. No cheese or tomatoes. Very disappointed. It's pretty cheap.....so I guess I got what I paid for. If you want tastful Italian, please go somewhere else!
