Mountain Bites Catering - Blaxland

This is a lovely little cafe. It's tucked away out the back of the blaxland shops. It has an interesting menu. Delicious food and a very friendly waiter/chef. He was working alone and a few groups of people came in. Not a problem.

I meet with a friend for coffee and we choose mountain bites because the coffee is great, the range of food is extensive, from a small bite to a more substantial treat.

With a new menu, this place and its staff are an even greater delight. The burgers embrace beetroot like only a real Aussie cafe can. In contrast this cafe also caters for those with picky diets. I grabbed a coffee today to drink during my shop at the supermarket. Too easy.

I had pre-booked and pre-paid for a 2-course meal for 10 people to be delivered to our vacation home in Katoomba on Saturday, September 10th. The table was set and menus were printed for a special birthday celebration. When the delivery was 40 minutes late, I contacted the booking officer and later received a call from the chef informing me that there had been a mix-up and they had no food to deliver. No excuses or apologies can compensate for the embarrassment and disappointment. The dinner that I had meticulously planned ended up being provided by a local take-out pizza shop.

This is exactly what Blaxland has been missing! The food, coffee, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch, and the best part is that it's all reasonably priced. This place has quickly become a new favorite hangout spot.
