Misters Bistro - Big Moose

Misters is my family’s go to in Old Forge. We absolutely love it there my sister even had her rehearsal dinner there! The food is always amazing and the menu changes seasonally. You can tell they have a passion for the food and drinks they serve! We always make sure to order a round of dirty martinis at the amazing old school bar before our meal. The food we had on NYE this year was one of my favorites of 2021! Don’t hesitate to visit this local upscale restaurant when you visit Old Forge

My granddaughter is vegan, so it isn't easy to find a place that caters to those who have food limitations. Everything we had here was fantastic! We will definitely be back when we return to Old Forge!

What more can you ask for? A warm, welcoming and friendly greeting made for the start of a relaxing evening. Our server was professional and personable; not pushy, knew the menu well; was attentive but not overbearing. The food was just perfection! Exquisitely plated! Sauces made to pair with our meal added another dimension of fun and flavor. Each bite was a perfect mix of smooth and crunch with pops of bright flavor...and dessert...SAME...eat here..you won't be disappointed!!

Let me start by saying that I have never written a food review for any restaurant in my life. I go out to eat very often and when I go out to dinner, the food is good but not worth writing a review for, because it is nothing special. Myself and my girlfriend went to Misters Bistro and I'm happy to say that the meal we had last night is beyond worthy of my first review. Our dinner last night truly blew us away. We started with the pozole, and burrata small plates. The pezole was perfectly balanced, topped with avocado roasted corn and sliced radish. I was amazed at how balanced this dish was and the attention to detail was extraordinary. The burrata appetizer was not your typical tomato and mozzarella dish that we have all had before. The burrata was fresh and chilled perfectly, the infused olive oil and balsamic paired with cherry tomato's and roasted garlic was a combination that many have paired together, but Misters hit it out of the park, they added three pieces of thin sliced fried zucchini. I did not know zucchini could be prepared this well. This is a dish that I will order every single time I go to Misters. We ended the meal with the Mediterranean appetizer and smoked seared scallops, and after how amazing the first two dished were, I didn't think they meal could get any better.... I am happy to say that I was wrong. The Mediterranean platter came with 4 pieces of falafel and hummus. Again, I'm sure that most people have had falafel and hummus before, but not like this. This falafel was not dry in the least, the inside was soft and creamy while the outside was fried perfectly. The seasoning was on point, and the hummus was better that any I have had at any Lebanese, or Greek restaurants. The smoked seared scallops capped off the meal perfectly. They were seared to perfection, topped with a brown sugar spice blend and served over a red wine and chevre risotto. The combination of the chevre, pancetta, red wine and pomegranates, were perfect. Perfectly balanced and not overwhelming at all. This meal was a top 3 meal of all time of me. A good chef knows how to take simple ingredients and prepare a dish perfectly, but Misters took it to a whole new level. I will be talking about this meal until the next one I have at Misters, which is hopefully this upcoming weekend. Its a must try when your in ln Forge. Id even say its a must try if your within 4 hours of Old Forge. Go to Misters, sit on the deck, and enjoy a truly wonderful meal.
