Bidrage med feedbackThen, a young woman dressed in torn jeans and flimsy flip-flops (which felt like a major health code violation) brought us plates of cold fried rice. I couldn't believe it— the rice was straight from the fridge, quickly warmed up in the microwave, and served alongside tiny, crusty spoons. Honestly, the plastic flowers outside looked fresher than that rice. At this point, we were genuinely worried, especially knowing that these people were handling raw fish. The sushi rolls arrived with no fanfare; their presentation was lackluster and uninviting. I ordered the beach roll, which contained a strange, chewy pink fish paste that reminded me of mayonnaise, and after a few bites, I couldn't eat any more. My family ordered a spider roll, shrimp tempura roll, and an Alaska roll, but I had no interest in trying them. We sat in silence, chewing our food as we puzzled over how we ended up at this strange restaurant. The only thing more shocking than the food was the bill, which felt absurdly steep for an experience that was utterly disappointing.
Unfortunately, they don’t have a liquor license, so you’ll need to bring your own drinks. We went on a Saturday night, and it wasn’t crowded at all, so we didn’t need a reservation. There were at least four tables occupied and some guests sitting at the sushi bar. There were four of us in total; three of us ordered sushi while our youngest had the children's fresh chicken. Everything was excellent! I’m not entirely sure about the price of the sushi rolls, but I think they were around $10 each. I also can’t remember how much the Mochi cost. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant!
I've been to Tokyo Do three or four times over the past year, and each visit has been delightful. The seafood is fresh, and you're free to request your preferred style of preparation. I particularly enjoy having my sushi with a bit of spice, and they are more than willing to accommodate that! If you enjoy sake (or any other alcoholic drinks) with your meal, don't forget to bring your own, as the restaurant follows a B.Y.O.B. policy.
