Southern Pearl Oyster House

Food was overall good. Few things could be improved on. Appetizer was shrimp and crab dip. We found it a bit salty and the toasted bread was very soft and floppy. Still was pretty good. The shrimp orleans was very tasty but also very spicy, even for me and I love spicy. Bacon shrimp and grits was good, shrimp all perfectly cooked but the grits were pretty cold and shrimp super hot, kinda disappointing but still good. The sweet potato brulee side dish was outstanding. Thebananas foster cheese cake was awesome. Also must try the hush puppies they are worth getting, so good. We had a to go order of the uptowner steak sandwich. Got home and they left out the Dijon horseradish sauce it is supposed to come witheven when I specifically made sure with waitress it would come with it. I really want to take another star off just for this but I won't. Would give a 3.5 if I could overall. Service was good from wait staff very friendly andknowledgeable.

The staff was nice and the food was very good. I ordered the redfish that had all the snapper fixings. They had no problem switching the fish around for me since I'm allergic to snapper. Quality was worth the price. The bananas foster cheesecake was to live for!

Great martinis. Do not recommend the mahi. I saw a review after I had ordered and regretted it. It wasn’t cooked well- tough and not my favorite flavors/ it was bland. Enjoyed the half shell salad and steamed broccoli.

Hope this isn’t the norm for this restaurant. First time visit. Was told there was a 20 min wait due to wait staff was busy….we were the only two waiting….7 tables had guests…but ok we waited thinking they might be short staffed. After wait we asked if it would be possible to be seated. Waiter came to us to tell us we were being rude for asking and they only had one chef, never saw a manager and why this waiter came to the wait area to confront us, I have no idea. We left, won’t be back if this is what can be expected as a customer.
