Bidrage med feedbackMestizos is an absolute breath of fresh air for Mexican cuisine in the Baton Rouge area. I have enjoyed the Cancun many times and there are always delicious options available. Today I had the Cauliflower Bowl with Shrimp (which is not something you will find anywhere else) and it was genious! It was a delicious and refreshing combination of textures and flavors that complement each other beautifully. You will never be disappointed with the flavors and options here wonderful!
Mexican with a Louisiana twist! This is by far one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge. They make a mean margarita and the Pacifico is one of my favorites. They also have a quinoa dish that is good enough to make you forget you're eating something that would normally taste like cardboard. It's covered with chicken, beef, avocado, what I think was a salsa verde sauce and an array of other flavorful delights.<br/ <br/ Mestizos is now one of the few restaurants in BR that has paleo and whole30 approved meals! That can be tough to find in the land of the fried!
Great Experience, Food and Service. Had a wonderful anniversary with wife there last week, food was fresh and authentic. If your looking for taco bell then go to taco bell, but if you want great authentic cuisine give Mestizos a try!
Ever since Jim Uridales had his first Mestizo restaurant on Sherwood near Coursey blvd, my husband and I have enjoyed the creative genius that these talented folks bring to the table . I was actually upset to read the negative , put down reviews on mobile reviews. Jim is usually on site to insure that his customers are satisfied with the food. In a dozen trips there over the past 2 years, only once were they too busy to get our drinks right away. I like their house specialties including the pescado con verde sauce... It's one if the lighter , but very tasty options. The tapas menu, and the duck empanadas are very tasty. We go early in the week when it is less crowded . Last Monday night we had Alex as our server... This was the day before Mardi Gras day. We enjoyed the food, our servers knowledge and spoke to Jim U on the way out. He is very interested in how his customers enjoy their food . They also have a catering menu that can serve large groups . I think The negative reviews are because this is NOT a traditional tex mex place; they have combined two cuisines and have incorporated Louisiana seafood into some interesting dishes. They have a brand new menu that is updated too. Muy Bien ! Número uno !
Love love love the blend of Louisiana taste with the traditional Mexican! Guacamole was so fresh and the shrimp and crab enchiladas are amazing. It was a nice touch when the owner of the restaurant came to the table to check on us. Next time we're in Baton Rouge we will defiantly be back!
