La Madeleine - Baton Rouge

Breathe the atmosphere, but eating is bland, and somewhat overpriced and the service is slow and can be a bit rude.

We couldn't be served mimosas because no one had a liquor license on staff that day. The lady behind me was told that they couldn't serve pasta because they didn't have pasta that day. The restaurant was generally unclean and the employees looked stressed out. It wasn't busy because zero tables were seated. There was a line of seven people by the time we left. I can't speak to the quality of the food because we left.

I got the cafe sampler. The tomato basil soup was very good! The Quiche Lorraine wasn’t warmed but it was good. Maybe you have to request that they warm it. They must have changed the recipe for Strawberry Romanov because the sauce wasn’t as thick as I remembered from the past. It had a different flavor too. The bread and jams were good as always.

We had a bad experience at La Madeleine on 08-07-2022 at 11:00 am. Our host was Benjamin, and we dined in the restaurant.My friend ordered the Basalmic Glazed Salmon with a water. The salmon was good and came out quickly, but the glass we picked for water was not clean. It had a lipstick imprint from the last person who drank from it.I ordered a Double Caramel Macchiato with a Pasta Salad Bowl and Sea Salt Baguette. The macchiato tasted fine but was not hot enough. The coffee mug it came in was not clean because there were coffee stains on the inside which weren't from my coffee.I had to remind the staff that I ordered a pasta bowl because they never brought out my dish. We waited about 15 minutes. When they finally brought it out, I also had to remind them that I ordered a baguette too, which they brought out about 5 minutes later. By the time we were finishing our meal, some flies had started buzzing over our plates.We rated La Madeleine as 2 out of 5 stars because we were very disappointed. The restaurant was unsanitary, and if felt like our business was not appreciated.

Ate lunch there on Tuesday 7/26: my wife enjoyed the Quiche Lorraine, although IO had to go to the counter remind them we had not been served. I had the French Dip and it as well as the Lorraine were outstanding.
