Terribly slow service throughout the evening. Only took half the plates away and left the rest on the end of the table. We gave up on ordering a dessert after 20 minutes of waiting for waitress to return. We asked what the vegetarian option was. We were told to order it at the carvery. This was wrong as it has to be ordered off the menu. Then we were charged for vegetarian meal and veg carvery. Lots of back and forth. Me getting annoyed. Young male waiter stepped in and dealt with the situation calmly and professionally. His talents are wasted there. Meat was good. Veg OK. Yorkshire pudding like rubber. Saw needed for potatoes. My first and last visit to a carvery. I don't understand the appeal.

Went to the Toby for a late lunch to celebrate the purchase of a new car. The staff were brilliant from the lady who greeted us at the door to the lady serving us. We were served our drinks and then went up to get our carvery. On sitting back at our table it was clear that a lot of the vegetables including cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and parnsips were cold. The waitress did offer to take our plates and microwave them for us but we were over halfway through eating it. Sadly it did put a bit of a damper on the meal but apart from this lovely staff.

Had an absolutely lovely time and our server Sharron (Shazza from Bazza) was such a helpful, happy lady. Had such a nice chat. Brilliant food, brilliant service
