The Blue Boar, Billericay - Basildon

I visited this restaurant with a group of 20 people and we all had food and drinks. However, we were disappointed when we were refused drinks at around 7pm with no explanation. We were just enjoying ourselves and having a good time with laughter, but for some reason we were denied service. It was a letdown considering we were all in our late 40s and nobody was behaving inappropriately.

The customer service at this restaurant was terrible. My family and I went there on a Wednesday evening to celebrate my granddaughter's 18th birthday. We checked the website beforehand, which stated that children were welcome with no time restrictions. However, when we arrived at 7:30pm and ordered drinks for our group, including a 17 and 15 year old, we were later told at 7:50pm that the two youngsters had to leave because children were not allowed after 8pm. This ruined the birthday celebration, and we were disappointed that the website was misleading. Despite the half-empty premises, the manager still enforced the rule. We were let down by the lack of clarity on when under 18s were allowed to be in the restaurant.

The security team at this restaurant is incredibly rude, disrespectful, and lacks any customer service or basic manners. They have a bullish attitude and seem to think they can treat people with contempt just because they are at the door. I had hoped that times had changed for the better, but unfortunately, it seems not in this establishment. I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs.

Changed in here a lot . On 3 occasions they didn't have chips. Food was cold. Lack of staff. Won't be going again.
