Hastingstation Family Restaurant

The food and service at this restaurant are excellent, making it the best in the area. The dishes are very flavorful, unlike many other places that serve simple and deep-fried options. The menu offers a great variety of dishes with generous portions at a low price. You simply can't ask for a better dining experience.

A hidden gem in Bancroft! Not really much selection of places to eat in this tired little town, but after trying Hastingstation's menu a few times, I wouldn't go anywhere else! Hopefully, full time residents of the town will support this family restaurant and it will thrive! Menu is huge and varied to cover every craving.

Being it advertised a very varied menu, I was anxious to try their paella and my daughter their Thai menu. Unfortunately the rice and whatever mixture is the same. We both did not like what was served. This might be acceptable for individuals who are new to these plates, yet for someone who's has had these items elsewhere, will be disappointed.

I tried out the restaurant for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The server was kind and friendly and willingly answered questions about the menu. They have daily soup and meal specials. The atmosphere is clean, tidy and simple. They menu is quite unique because they have a varied menu sectioned into Caribbean, Mexican, Thai, Italian, Greek and maybe a few more along with the regular appetizer fare. The restaurant offers 5 or 6 items per ethnic selection. I went for a Caesar salad as an appetizer and was quite disappointed in the colour. It was white and not green. I thought, "Oh, no! Is this an indicator of quality?" If I had to serve that to someone I would just tell them that we had run out. I ordered the Red Curry Chicken Rice dish and it was very good. Lots of veggies and chicken. I am looking forward to visiting again for a great breakfast for $5.

This is my favorite Subway location! It's just a 7-minute drive from my home.
