Bidrage med feedbackCozy old-style dining room with dark wood paneling and carved friars with their beer steins and casks. Straightforward, well-prepared regional dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed the sauerkraut soup and the Schäuferla (roasted pork shoulder) in its flavorful sauce. We liked it so much that we went back two nights later for the same dinner.
Cozy old dining room with dark wood trim and carved friiares with their beer stones and barrels. simple, well prepared regional dishes.
Our group booked through Bamberg Tourism a Bamberg beer tasting experience tour, for 2 hours guided tour, beer tasting a pork dish, very good choice this tour. The resaturant offered excelent food, the beer tasting was interesting (smoked beer). Definitely go and try it
We visit this restaurant every time we're in Bamberg. This is where my parents had their special dinners when they were courting 60 years ago. They have both passed on, but when where at the Weierich they are with us. The food is wonderful, and service exceptional. I recommend the baked potato with all the trimmings, it comes with a delightful salad. The Goulash Soupe is not to be missed. This restaurant is a must when in Bamberg - Prost!!!
I NEVER would have eaten here, as I assumed (wrongly) that a hotel restaurant wasn´t worth the time. You know, at a lot of hotels they don´t care about the food as the guests are leaving anyway. However, my parents stayed at the hotel and had a dinner there, and commented about how good it was. Also, a foodie friend (who also lives in Bamberg) said she eats there often. So we went. And so glad we did. Staff was attentive, but not in your face. My Bärlauch cream soup (wild garlic is a loose translation) was unbelievably good. I forget the name of my meat dish, but also good. Bonus to Americans? They actually allow substitutions (rare in this area). So instead of whatever, I got a side salad. They only had the house mustard dressing, and I was wary, as I am not a huge fan of mustard. However? I´d buy it if it was bottled. Portions are HUGE. My husband couldn´t even finish his Haxe. Also, they serve Fässla Pils, in my opinion the best beer in Bamberg. The restaurant across the street closed, and it is now a "bier garten" for the Weireich with more outside seating as well.
