Avila Grocery Deli - Avila Beach

Avila Grocery is under new ownership. MUCH BETTER. Daniel, the cook, now has full control of kitchen, cafe lay out/set up. Looks much better! Food is of better quality and is tasting good : Recently had a Western Bacon Cheeseburger. It was cooked to perfection and was tasty! The quinoa salad is yummy! Breakfast burrito is better filled with yumminess! I'm looking forward to stopping in for a good tasty quick meal more often and in an environment that is more pleasing to the eye : Avila Grocery still has Grocery/souvenir items. These items now have their proper place in The store. Not bundled in between cafe. It's still a fury love friendly place : Thank you Daniel and new owners!!! 110% much better :

A good place to grab a bite when you don't feel like waiting 30mins-hour to be seated at Custom House. Their clam chowder is pretty good, tastier than Splash's in my opinion. Only downside, don't expect to find any clams in it.

They do not allow made to order sandwiches for the adults but did all order of plain made to order sandwich for kids but then after order completed informed us they were out of the ham. I asked for plain cheeseburger with cheese only. She told me I could only switch the kind of meat (I assume since the burger was a different price than sandwich). We had been a large party of about 16 on 3 separate checks so we must have spent 200 dollars. Burger cost was $9. Usual sandwich for adults with all the fixings was $12. Felt she's should have given me the burgers. Pastrami amount was less than expected on sandwich. No saurkraut. They did not put salad dressing with salad. Staff less than friendly. I did like they had paper boxes. Serves with fries. No option given. I would've preferred something else since heavy fries at beach does not feel good. Wish we'd gone somewhere else

Decent food but service can be very poor. Food is consistent but you can't overcome slow, inattentive counter help. We continue to enjoy the food sandwiches and salads are a hit. Good choice of beverages. Location is the hit. You can dine inside or on the sidewalk. Worth the wait to enjoy the beach vibe.

This place has got a lot better then in the resent past Some pretty girls work there now too! : Does anyone miss Avila before Unocal fixed it like me?
