Great atmosphere! the fish entrees are superb! they have several cozy dining areas throughout the restaurant! tons of memorabilia throughout! I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for special occasions

Reopen now for diners you can celebrate the end of the lockdown in Athens with a meal at the Hilltop. Had lunch there today the highlight as usual was the Crawfish Gumbo. Great atmosphere friendly service and most importantly, they are open for dining!

A great local bar and eating experience. This place straddles all three top criteria for a great restaurant. Great food, great service and a comfortable feel. The service is great whether you 're at the bar or at a table. The bar area is definitely a local feel. The brass plaques around the bar with people 's names on it show you how local it is! The bar staff is friendly and attentive and this is a great place to come chat with a friend. The restaurant side of the business is also good. The steaks are tender and juicy, and they also serve a wide variety from healthy to less healthy but really tasty! The menu is straightforward and there 's not a lot of frou frou stuff. It 's just good wholesome food. Every time we come here the food quality has been excellent. There were families eating here and business people having drinks. It 's quite a mix. It seemed like a friendly place, partially because a lot of the people seem to know each other. But I didn 't feel like a stranger. Felt very welcome and at home. There is a beautiful outside patio with lights in the trees and a rather romantic feel. Would be a good place for a date.. There 's plenty of parking. And it 's easy to access off Atlanta highway. Probably a boring backstory but I think this place used to be a Shoney 's that I would eat at with my grandparents way back in the '70s. But they have converted it into a nice upscale place with lots of stone and leather. But it 's not a stuffy place. Feels very comfortable. And it certainly doesn 't feel like a Shoney 's!

Went on the advice of a local that loves the steak salad. Seriously a fabulous upscale mix of southern charm, comfort, fine dining. Gumbo is to die for, filet perfect, green beans excellent, cheese grits delectable, 75 yr old recipe key lime pie delicious, staff spot on, waiter charming knowledge, the host/owner(? Pride in this place. Go here if you can!

Excellent food, great service and good price. I highly recommend this establishment.
