Bidrage med feedbackIf you're looking for a fresh, crispy oven, baked pizza, you're gonna want to check out Farina. I recently stopped by for a quick lunch with a friend and we split their lunch special, which had a ton of different veggies. We also ordered a side of dip for the crust, which was absolutely awesome. It's a relatively small space, but we came towards the end of the normal lunch, rush and were able to find seating and service was fast.
My friend and I were both craving some exceptional pizzas and Calzones, so we used the Yelp app to select Farina as our dinner destination. It turned out to be an outstandingly excellent choice! Let's start with the best first their pies are a culinary Thng of Beauty! The crusts are perfectly blistered with just the right amount of char; chewy at the center and crispy on the edges. The Calzones were almost as good as the pies. To begin with, these Bad Boys are immense and very filling due to the fact that it's chock full of vegetables and probably 3 or 4 meatballs as well. They're also just as delicious as they are filling : Honorable mention goes to their delicious salad, which is made with blanched green beans, avocado, and a delicious layer of Meyer lemon vinaigrette. Service was fast and friendly, and the venue has a parking lot in the rear. I thought this was a very nice touch, as the area is a bit on the sketchy side and it made us feel safer when we were parking after dark. To sum it all up, the pies, Calzones, and salads here are first tier, and you can't go wrong with any part of the dining experience highly recommended!
The food and ambiance were great. And really not wanting to give this place a bad review was holding me back from leaving one at all but there are somethings you just can 't not share. We went out with friends, ordered a salad to start, my wife got about halfway through when she noticed something wriggling. Clung onto one of the lettuce pieces was a slug. Not a hair. A slug. It curled up, before plopping itself onto the plate and scooting across. Disgusting. We informed the waitress immediately, she shrugged and simply replied organic and took the plate without so much as a second thought. She brought us back another salad, which we declined, having no appetite for eating off produce that could 've been potentially contaminated. The waitress went about her duties like nothing happened not even so much as offering an apology. We eventually had to ask for a manager, which was astoundingly, an even worse experience. We informed her of the situation and at best, she bobbled her head side to side and shrugged repeatedly, at worst, she informed us that That 's how you know it 's organic. it was clear she was unfit to lead a restaurant by her reply, when I asked don 't you wash the lettuce? , to which she shrugged again and said we 're pretty busy tonight. (Insinuating that business no washing lettuce? She offered us a desert, for being exposed to a slug, which by the way, carries a parasite that burrows into your brain. Didn 't comp the meal. Gave a half assed apology at best, and giggled her way back inside. Again, food and ambiance were great. But I 'd prefer my meals slug free, and restaurants not operated by blatant apathy.
Close to lovelace hospital. We tend to go there from work at times. Their pizza is great- nice thing crust, classy atmosphere. Lots of free dedicated parking for customers, shared with artichoke cafe.
A great date-night spot, for dining in or taking out! Meatballs, mushrooms make great appetizers, and the butterscotch budino are delish. Can't go wrong with any of the pizzas.
