Liberte - Albany

Went for a lunch to say goodbye to a co-worker, food was served quickly but that's the only nice thing I have to say. I ordered a serve of the Wok fried seasonal vegies for $12 which was essentially a sugar bowl full of oil soaked warm leafy vegies with an inch of oil in the bottom. I told the waitress that I was not happy with the amount of oil and asked her to take it back she took it away and left it at that, no asking if they could do anything or offer anything and when I asked for a refund because I hadn't actually eaten it I was met by " that's how the chef makes it". Well I paid for it so I should either get what I expected or a refund. The girls were so rude about it as well. I won't be wasting anymore time or money there.

My husband and I visited Libere for lunch in July. The decor is fabulous and the bar / restaurant has a real ambience. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. We had the pork pancake, white hair, and their famous chilli crab noodles, it's famous for a reason! All the servings were generous, well seasoned, made with excellent produce, and delicious to boot. The drinks list is good with a focus on cocktails. We visited Rising Star winery directly afterwards and I'm going to cheekily suggest they look at the reisling there as a possible addition to their wine list, my husband and I both said the only thing that could have made the meal better was a glass of that reisling, they would have been perfect together. My old fashioned was pretty darn good though. We'll be back next time we're down that way.

Was here 6 years ago. Was here in June for Albany around the Houses. Sad to see they no longer do breakfast. Their eggs benedict was the bomb. Love this place. So central and beautiful.

Simply one of the best bars I've ever been in full stop. If only Albany was at the end of my street, I'd move in. Thanks for making a recent trip a very memorable occasion. I'll be back soon . I hope.

Dripping with home spun charm this offbeat saloon and eatery offers a genuine alternate dining experience with an adventurous and bold menu. Recommende.
