Bidrage med feedbackHeard that this we’re supposed to be one of the best restaurants in this town. DONT GO HERE, the moules marinières were discussing. Dry and no sauce. The stuff didn’t meet us at any point (trust me I know how to meet someone since I work in restaurant businesses)
We were on a day trip out of Annecy. Aix is a bit dated but you can see what the appeal was in its hay day. We were looking for a lunch spot and an old french couple told us that this a great place and to try the plat du jour. Well the decor was very interesting and quirky, an attempt to capture a 20s/30s feel. Very good. The plat du jour was euro 15 each and very good. We both had the steak option and it was cooked to perfection.
The restaurant is located straight beside the gambling room. The decoration is quite nice but out of theme. The service was disparate. One waiter was really good and friendly, but the others were cold and careless. About the food... Way better at home. Coarse, flavours unmatched (extra cheesy risotto with fish), not well cooked (chewy meet, skin not crunchy), flavours masking the real taste of the dish (extra spices sauce and extra cheesy risotto). Considering menu described the meals as home made or artisanal, the dessert (tiramisu) tasted industrial and the bread was plan. We won't go again.
Have been yesterday with some collegues from foreign country. The personnel is professional but ready to answer to customer when complaining which is wrong: in brief, I wished to make them tested the famous cheese from Savoie; when we tasted them we understood they were too old and strongly tasty; so then we complain about that and they replied 'they prefer this way '; quite unbelievebale! for the rest the dishes are quite good and well presented. The wine list is nice. But I wish I prefer to go elsewhere another time.
