Bidrage med feedbackSeafood heaven if you’re a seafood lover. I came for a late lunch (3pm) so the crowd wasn’t as hectic. You have two options here; can buy your food and eat at the available tables around, or do what I did and dine at the various options (sushi bar, hotpot or restaurant). I did the sushi/seafood bar cause I wanted to dine in style and was willing to pay more. The food pictures you see are from my Li Tun set from the Deluxe Seasonal set for $NTD1980. Was thoroughly worth it some abalone, premium sashimi including oo toro, giant crab claw, sushi, seafood stew soup and wagyu beef to mention a few. Had to wait for a while (maybe 15 mins) before my number was called but we’ll worth it. Stayed in Taipei for 6 days and this was my favourite meal. Would come back in a heartbeat.
3.5 Stars Cooked food is really really good. Big bowl of miso soup is awesome. However, I am here for the sushi and nigiri and they are quite... Normal, OK-ish? For a restaurant in a fish market, I was expecting it to be a lot better. It 's not bad, but doesn 't pass the Sushiro Test in which I ask myself after finishing the meal, Would I want to eat Sushiro tomorrow? It was 50/50 before I found out they charge 10% service fee, but after I paid the bill I definitely want to eat Sushiro now.
Quite the atmospheric emporium for all things seafood swimming, chilled or frozen. It looks wildly popular given the crowd on a Sunday evening. The dining format can be a bit confusing initially. After navigating through the aquarium full of live fish and crustaceans, we ended up in the Japanese sushi bar since it looked the busiest and was the most centrally located. While we didn’t have a reservation, the reception was kind enough to accommodate our party of three very promptly. The sushi bar concept here is taken quite literally. There are no seats standing room only with small counters to put your food. We ordered several sets and ala carte items including oysters and king crab. The service is fast so we didn’t have to wait long before our food arrived. One problem it’s hard to fit all the food on the small counters! Loved the freshness and quality! Loved the crab and oysters. They were the best. Sushi was also quite good just not gourmet kaiseki standard. Very little to complain about. Enjoyed thoroughly the dining experience. Legs were pretty tired by the end of the meal. This eatery comes recommended.
This place is amazing! The variety of foods is astonishing, in the way they are prepared, served, and presented. It's more than a restaurant, it's a bazaar for all sorts of seafood, raw, boiled, grilled, fried. You can buy your food like in a supermarket from the shelves or you can have it prepared on demand behind the cooking stations, or you could get a reservation for a table at the restaurant. The most difficult thing you'd find when you're in that place is what you want to eat because you want to eat everything. We chose to sit at the takeout counter tables outside, I would recommend the trays of uni from the market area. It's a good deal.
So much anticipation to visit this place but was so much of a disappointment. There was quite a bit of publicity on this place so decided to pay a visit. Firstly, it's not really near Metro station so still quite a walk, but I guess the location was prime for the restaurant as it is next to the Taipei fish market, which is easy for them to get fresh seafood direct without transportation. The place was rather big, but first you had to walk through the giant tanks, some had too much foam on top you can't actually see what's inside. Then you head up a slope to the main area which is like a supermarket. You can see a lot of food which was prepacked, so it kinda didn't leave a good impression because the cooked food have been placed there for hours and it wasn't fresh and hot. There were like 2 ways which you could actually eat here, one is to dine in the centre area which looks like a standing bar, while the other one is you buy the packed items and you can have the meal outside the supermarket. We did the latter as we thought it was cheaper and there were more variety of items to choose from. Be it you dine indoors or outdoors, there is a high chance where you have to stand and eat. There is definitely nowhere you could sit indoors its like a bar concept and outdoors there are some benches but not sufficient as well as people just taking their time eating and chatting. So bought a few items to try. The scallop rice was flavourful and was probably lukewarm, the Cordon Bleu pork cutlet was the most horrible of all it was totally cold and almost tasted rubbery. The Alaskan crab legs were also cold, and the meat was stuck to the shell it was very difficult to eat. The only saving grace were the sashimi set, the sashimi was fresh and we enjoyed it a lot. The dessert was also delightful, had the matcha and the black sesame pudding which the latter was better because it has a stronger punch. The matcha one was not bad but would be better if it was stronger. I went hiking for the whole day and came here without seats was really a disaster and the bad experience of eating cold food left me really discontented. Given a choice won't come back again and also won't really recommend this place.
