Bergrestaurant Blatten AG - Zermatt

Nestled on a stunning hillside in the Alps, Restaurant Blatten is worthy of a special trip. The food is equal to the setting. Recommended by Swiss friends, we made a special point of eating an early dinner there on a hike above Zermatt. My black truffle risotto ranks with the best cuisine in the world. In addition, there is an excellent wine list. If you consider yourself a foodie, DO NOT MISS Restaurant Blatten. If you just enjoy mountain scenery, it is worth a visit on that account also.

We took the cable car to the top and hiked down to this quaint and beautiful cafe / restaurant. Being a beautiful day we sat on the deck and took in the sun and THE VIEW of the Matterhorn. We had local beer, and Mac & Cheese dish (yum!!) and the caprese salad. All just amazing! Could have stayed here all day!

This place is the most wonderful place we have been! Must have the strudel and rösti...all made fresh every day! The view is spectacular with all old houses around, and we even visited in the rain and had the most wonderful time! It is family run and they are awesome! So friendly and attentive!

Just loved this place!!! Very friendly and kind service. Our waitress was called Julia and she was a STAR! Food was unbelievably good...... A real gem to visit if up on the mountain......

We visit this restaurant every year in August. The dough-coated mushroom soup is amazing and I can recommend it.
