Bait Shop Bbq - Zavalla

Look....good place i think but they asked me to come to the back and they burnt my toe?????

I arrived a little before closing time on my first visit there. I asked for a sliced brisket sandwich which had been sold out. However the proprietor told.me there was chopped brisket available so I agreed to that of course like everyone, I'm sure, I was glad to have a BBQ restaurant in Zavalla. While in my opinion $7was a little pricey for a sandwich and the small bag of potato chips I reserved judgement till I tried it . I got home and I started to eat dinner after a few bites I I found myself trying to chew a large piece of fat and and then a couple more of them . I disassembled my sandwich and was disappointed to find several more pieces of it. While the beef you could eat was tender and tasty I would not order another one. I doubt it was like that when it was first being served that day. Certainly the proprietors have worked those problems by now and I wish them a long prosperous business here. Zavalla needs more good food restaurants.

Excellent food and awesome service. Stop in and ask for Billy or Shadie.

Basically spent 20 dollars for meat that was served at room temperature. Ribs were good but the brisket was not tender and dry.

Great spot, really nice people and awesome live music
