Bidrage med feedbackBeen there about five times in the last couple of years, and always had great food and fine drinks. The issue? When California ruled that restaurants could once again serve in-house customers about 2-3 months ago, I remember stopping by here to support them and have a wonderful dinner. But when a month ago, due to the rising death toll from COVID-19, the state declared that all restaurants needed to serve outdoors or to-go only, the owner of Brand-N-Iron declared that she would defy public health law and continue service indoors, because saving her suffering business was more important to her than protecting her customers. As far as I know, she was the only restaurant in the city of Yreka to take that callous, mercenary attitude. Very disappointed in this place, and do not intend to return ever.
I waited about a year and returned on 12-11-19 to the same issues with the beef ribs. The first plate they brought me had cold and tough ribs. The waitress took them back and returned with warmer, more tender ribs after about 10 minutes. I finished them and ordered more, but it took at least 10 minutes for two more ribs to arrive. The wait for additional ribs was too long in my opinion, especially for an all you can eat rib night. It seems they do not truly mean all you can eat, as the wait for more ribs can frustrate customers. Unfortunately, nothing has changed at this restaurant and I will not be returning, even though it is the only place in Yreka that serves beef ribs. If they can improve their service, they would likely do much better. The restaurant responded by saying they have been in business for 35 years and that the ribs are cooked to order, not kept in a pan of grease in an oven. They mentioned that it can be difficult to please someone who expects the worst. In response to the restaurant's explanation, I reiterated that this was not my first experience with the same issues and that the wait time for more ribs was excessive. I also noted that the ribs should never be served cold and tough. Despite giving them multiple chances to improve, I will not be returning to their establishment. My review was honest and fair. Thank you.
The restaurant is pricey, but the quality of the food and service make it well worth the cost.
Old restaurant smells of stale cigarette smoke. Service was slow, steak was dry, sides are straight from a can. Just cook at home
Believed to be closed for the duration of COVID, perhaps permanently, from what owner Penny Palermo Fox said on Facebook. But call them up and ask to be sure.
