Bidrage med feedbackThis Yelp page is a little confusing because St. Joe's Market is the name of the cafeteria of St. Joe's Ann Arbor, but Joe's Java is the name of the cafe in the lobby. JOE'S JAVA: good coffee (love to get the mocha with half syrup, which isn't too sweet and actually tastes like coffee), great baked goods (muffins are amazing especially the pistachio and chocolate ones, food options also include frittatas, oatmeal, and soup), attached mini mart with refrigerated food (favorites include the chicken/beef swarmas, chicken and egg salad sandwiches, and salads), plenty of snacks (candy, chips, and fruit) and any toiletries that you may have forgotten at home, hours are a bit restrictive as previously mentioned ST. JOE'S MARKET: nice little cafeteria that is actually quite underrated, options include freshly rolled sushi, meal of the day that comes with carved meat that is delicious and well made sides, fresh grill, salad bar, soups, a sandwich making station that makes subway style sandwiches, and my personal favorite the salad bar. I usually go with the special of the day, which has included the thai shrimp salad (actually one of the best salads I've had in the Ann Arbor area), buffalo chicken salad, steak and horseradish salad, and a chicken taco salad. You can't really go wrong with any of the salads and if anything is not your thing such as buffalo chicken salad, you can just ask for regular chicken. OVERALL: food options are surprisingly good, especially for a hospital. I appreciate that St. Joe's Ann Arbor makes an effort to have good food for the employees and visitors, which is part of their dedication to patient satisfaction. Plus, when I'm too tired (i.e. lazy) to go home and cook, I can always find something good to eat on my way home.
Waited way too long for such a lack luster sandwich. The creamy cesar and greek feta side salads tasted like it was fresh from the store. Neither my wife or I could bring ourselves to eat them. We both had the French dip sandwiches. While she enjoyed hers, I found it to be lack luster. Wasn't the worst sandwich by far, but doubtful I will come back by choice.
Not a bad little cafeteria. They do a good job of offering healthy options, with no junky or sugary options. If you are looking for a little dessert, or a candy bar, it can be easily purchased down the hall at the coffee shop. The only annoying thing about this place is the hours. They close between lunch and dinner, and after dinner. What they, perhaps, don't realize is that when you're at the hospital with a loved one, free time doesn't necessarily come at noon and 5pm. You hop down stairs when you can, or when you need a break, and it's a disappointment to find the cafeteria closed during those times.
