Montana's BBQ & Bar - York

I have been to this restaurant a few times and we have in average a good meal. So when we decided to have our family celebration for Father's Day everyone was excited. Before I get into the food. I want to say that our server Spencer was awesome he tried his best but the whole meal was off. I understand with large groups things take time. I get that but to wait almost 45 min for food is not acceptable. People were coming in after us ordering eating their food and leaving before we had ours. My sister ordered the pecan apple salad and immediately had to send it back. No apples or dressing and to be honest it looked like someone had thrown it in the plate not worth the money she paid. My dad orders the mushroom chicken. It was good but it was suppose to come with vegetables and nothing. My nephew had the hand carved steak - burnt! One of my nieces order fajitas and so did I. Mine was ok no problems but hers when served made no sizzle. Not hot at all. Seemed like someone in the kitchen was not checking quality control. Another niece wanted the waffle chicken but by 1pm was told they had no more waffles! Seriously you just opened. Again I understand large groups we were 12 and it was a busy day being Father's Day but so not happy when I know at other times it has been better. Unsure if we will go back.

Where to start, service is slow, they could not care about what is going on with the customer. The food was horrible my wife and I ordered the hand carved steaks was barely warm but the steaks were both burnt. I tried a piece and it was like I ate sallow meat. Had to eat the cold potato trying to get the taste from my mouth. Drank the pop still didn't feel like it helped, it stuck to my teeth. My wife seeing my face couldn't even try she was afraid, she noted that pieces of steak did not look as if it came from the same piece of meat, but different pieces. We both left our steaks on the plate the waiter didn't even ask if everything was okay. I asked for the bill had to get it corrected they billed for items we did not get. We frequently go to Montana's only in Richmond Hill never again in Newmarket. A word to Cara foods close Newmarket and do your corporation a favor, before someone gets sick and sues you. I may have the privileged cause as I write I am starting to feel ill. Hope not to end up in hospital.P.S I don't write reviews this is how bad it is.

Waited at the door for a while before being at least acknowledged. Just give me a nod that you will be with me.....Once seated it was at least 10 minutes before we saw a server. Again just acknowledge me. Once we got our server she did apologize for the delay and was very nice. Our drinks and food then arrived quickly. Both of our steaks were very good however they had run out of a couple items. Would have been nice to know when we ordered not bring out the dish with the missing items. Overall an average evening which could easily have been a over average. My reasoning for the 3 star rating is the lack of service in the beginning as well as the missing items

This didn't start out too well, when our group of six got in we stood at the door for a few minutes before we were acknowledged. After we were seated service and the food were good. Id go back assuming the lack of initial attention was not normal.

First visit in 7 years. We won't be back for 77. Classic case of a well established heavily advertised chain restaurant resting on its laurels. The service was acceptable but the food wasn't. I would post a picture of the chicken/shrimp combo I ordered but people would laugh at it. Very small in both size and imagination - just boring. Topped off with tepid coffee - simply inexcusable.
