Bidrage med feedbackI don't get the hype. We've tried this place twice and weren't impressed either time. The first shot, the general Tsao's chicken was so salty it was inedible but the shrimp toast and rangoons were good. We decided to give it another shot, but the second time the shrimp toast was all but burnt, the grab rangoons were over-fried, and the chicken lo-mein was absolutely drenched in soy sauce. My daughter usually eats anything put in front of her but she would not finish the lo-main from First Wok. Unfortunately, we won't be ordering from here going forward.
I waited for over an hour for my food, and other customers were experiencing the same delay. Newer orders were being served before ours, which was frustrating. We also ordered crunchy shrimp, but it turned out to be soft and overly breaded, which completely ruined the flavor. If you're looking for good Chinese food, I recommend skipping this place and heading to JJ Panda instead. It's not too far, they serve food more quickly, and their quality is much better.
They are currently only offering carryout, but their Chinese food is truly the best in the area. The chicken and beef skewers are fantastic, and the portion sizes are generous. The prices are reasonable too. You definitely won't be disappointed!
I've ordered food from First Wok around 15 times in the past four years, and I honestly can't recall any dish that didn't taste great. I've never dined in, just gotten take-out, but the interior looks nice enough. The host at the front is both efficient and polite. Parking is convenient, and it's easily accessible from I-83. If you find yourself in East York, I highly recommend Green Garden!
I really enjoy their Mooshu pork and chicken, as well as the crab Rangoon. I do wish their hot-and-sour soup had a bit more of a sour flavor. The service is excellent.
