Fitzroy Cafe - York

Had a nice “light lunch” with friends before a walk through the gardens. we all had sandwiches different kind together with good old yorkshire tee. castle howard is a spectacular place to visit and the gardens, lakes and different buildings can keep them occupied for a whole day.

Enjoyed my meal, very tasty asparagus and wensleydale quiche. Staff were polite and service was good

This is the first time we have actually visited the house and oh my word...it is stunning...the 12 days of Christmas theme running through the house was unbelievable...the attention to detail...the family traditions/decorated twig trees etc...were outstanding...the volunteers were very knowledgeable.....this albeit on a grand scale feels like a home full of love......and its do lovely and warm too. Well worth the entry fee.......the tress and decorations were all outstanding. The additional heated marquees for cafe/dining were an added bonus particularly as it was getting busy when we left. Highly recommend a visit....im so impressed im organising memberships.

I have eaten in here a few times. It is not as large as the cafe at the house but it does have outside seating in the courtyard which does expand its capacity. The menu has both hot and cold selections.

Fantastic food and very competitive price. I had the Yorkshire rarebit. It was so tasty and the salad was super fresh. Delicious
