River's Edge - Yankton

We absolutely adore this restaurant! The atmosphere is peaceful and the fireplace adds a cozy touch. The views are stunning, and we’ve enjoyed nothing but fantastic food (and drinks) during every visit. While some times are busier than others, the quality of the food remains outstanding. I often wish there were more places like this in our small town. It's a family-friendly spot where I feel comfortable bringing my kids. The service is attentive, and I always receive great recommendations when I ask. I will keep recommending this place to friends and family. Thank you for providing such a delightful dining experience!

The silverware was bent and seemed well-worn. The garden salad featured wilted brown iceberg lettuce, a teaspoon of cheese, a single cherry tomato, and an uncut small carrot, all with minimal dressing on the side. While my filet was cooked correctly, it was also the driest piece of steak I can remember tasting and lacked any flavor. Throughout the evening, a man – possibly the manager or owner – was walking around to check on diners, but despite seeing our table with the removed brown lettuce and knowing I had requested a clean wine glass, he never approached us. In summary, I suggest spending your money at another restaurant where the value matches the price.

On our recent visit to South Dakota, we went to diner at River’s Edge, a place our friends that live in Yankton suggested. We went as a group of 7 with a reservation, for 7:00 PM. Do to it being an old friends get together, we actually arrived 20 minutes late, and our table was understandably given to another party of 6. The hostess apologized (not her fault, ours) and tried to get a table, starting as a table for 4, which adjusted to a table for the 7 of us before our food order was taken. The food was amazing! My first time having Lobster Mac N Cheese. It was awesome, the waitress was very pleasant, and even took SEVERAL pictures for us. If we lived in SD, I could see us eating there often, as our friends that live in Yankton do.
