La Taberna Del Puerto - Yaiza

Had a lovely late evening family meal at La Taberna del Puerto restaurant. My Spanish guest was late but the staff ensured that they stayed, kept the kitchen open and provide us with some excellent food. Thank you.

This is an excellent restaurant and attracts a lot of local customers. There is a very interesting range of rice dishes and the Valdosta with large prawns is a taste sensation. It is quite filling and hence no starters. Staff are always friendly and the view across the marina is great.

I was in the mood for fried fish and I asked which of the day's catch would be best that way. I had a huge John Dory: the best I ever ate (and I have eaten in top top restaurants). Wonderful.

Stopped for a late lunch and a quick bite. Good views of the marina and reasonable food! No issues people.

We arrived early and were able to get a table for 6 in the shade. It is a beautiful location with lots of activity. The boys had a spaghetti bolonesa which was very tasty. The bread and tomato dip was also enjoyed by one of the boys. 2 starters for the adults to share tasty garlic prawns and lovely small sweet broad beans, octopus and chorizo. A superb rabbit and vegetable paella for 2 a large tasty sole and a sea bream. Both excellent. A superb bottle of dry white Bermejo to compliment our meal.
