Bidrage med feedbackI am visiting friends in Woodstock. We were looking for a place for Friday night supper. They told me that there really arent a lot of choices. We had on a previous visit had breakfast here and i had enjoyed it. So we gave it a whirl. The service was very good. 3 of us had the schnitzel. Mmmmm....piping hot and full of flavor. It was on a bed of garlic buttered mashed potatoes. Too die for. The meal was complted with carrots and asparagus( local)Very reasonably priced. Comfortable seating , not crowded and not noisy.Way better than a chain restaurant. Our local friends were impressed and will return!
Sadly this place had an apparently good shot at #1. In the words of Dave Hodge "they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory". They need to decide if they are a restaurant or not. open then closed I had them put the closed for private event sign up as i walked up to the door. They are not open regular hours and when they are open as i drive by to a real restaurant the parking lot is empty or nearly. Closing the whole restaurant for an "event" tells your regular clients screw you today we don't need you, but by tomorrow we have found something else. I did.The chef they had may have been overly ambitious but my word he put out some amazing meals. Sadly we are back to over deep fried potato like things for breakfast and well done toast and the same lackluster pub grub you can get anywhere.
Went to celebrate my birthday.....the food was elegantly prepared, well seasoned, beautifully presented and tasted awesome! Every dish on thier menu is worth trying and the staff is always attentive and friendly. Since last year I've noticed a considerable improvement in all areas of service including a revamped totally unique menu. I admire how they incorporate local organic produce and this in itself is noteworthy. I just love the bistro!!!
The changes in the menu are staggeringly good, the enthusiasm of the staff more than evident. We did the toonie Tuesday where the 2nd entree is $2. I had the beef ribs tender well seasoned cooked to perfection and a big serving. The fries and coleslaw from scratch and uniquely wonderful. 2nd entree was a flawlessly prepared steak perfectly medium rare. The restaurant has had a culinary make over of sorts and it is awesome. The staff here is awesome it is nice that they have a winning combination. Lunch or dinner you cant go wrong ill be there again soon.
Five ladies and myself met at Sally Creek Bistro on Tuesday, September 13. My Mother and myself ordered the club house sandwich with side salad. While waiting for our food I could smell burning toast. When my plate arrived the sandwich was cut in half not fours as usual but that was fine. The outside slices of "toast" we're actually warm bread, the inside slice, however, was burned but hiding inside. There were two slices of bacon, a thinly sliced piece of tomato, two pieces of chicken no bigger than my thumb and a sprinkling of exotic lettuce. The side salad was on the same plate beside my warm sandwich, only a small handful of lettuce, with a few pieces of cucumber and a couple of cherry tomatoes. The dressing was Honey Citrus Sesame, however, it was as thin as water and did not taste of any of the ingredients, no sesame seeds to be found. I put some of the special type of lettuce on my fork but none of the dressing would adhere to it, just ran off. Looking closer I saw the light green pieces of salad greens were beginning to turn brown and the dark green pieces had surpassed that and were a green pile of mush interspersed with the other greens. Couldn't ear that and upon checking my sandwich I found the same dark green mush in it. When the waitress finally came back I told her my lettuce was rotten. She said she was the only waitress working then so she didn't have time to check the greens when she took them out of the bag. She said she would tell the owner. Shortly a man came over and said "I understand you weren't happy with your salad." I said that it was rotten and he said he would discount it. The cost of this food was $13.50 and when the bill came he had discounted it $1.35, really??
