Country Cottage - Woodburn

We attended a large holiday sale at a kindergarten, and my daughter discovered this restaurant online. Since the four of us are from different areas, we enjoy trying local eateries when we get together. I was unaware that we were heading to a senior-friendly establishment. The atmosphere was clean and well-organized, and the menu offered a good variety at reasonable prices. Each of us ordered something different, and while the food was good, it wasn't exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the raspberry tea. However, the main issue was the service. It wasn’t a large place, yet there were only two waitresses, and we hardly saw ours. After delivering our meals, she didn’t return until we had to signal her for a takeout box. Our drinks also needed refills, but we struggled to get her attention. When I approached a different waitress to pay, she bumped into me without even apologizing. Thankfully, I was with good company, but I wouldn’t recommend this place based on our experience.

I frequently ordered the Oriental chicken salad, but it has become the worst dish I've ever had. The cabbage was chopped so finely it might as well have been shredded beyond recognition. It used to be sliced more generously. The nuts and almonds had a strange taste and smell, and they were hardly present at all. The dressing was tangy and oily, but just not right. The chicken was cold and lacked flavor. This was the worst salad I've ever encountered. Has there been a change in the kitchen staff?

The Country Cottage Restaurant is fantastic! My hamburger was cooked to perfection, and the fries were some of the best I've ever had! My wife ordered the California chicken burger, and my daughter had a chicken burger as well. I stole a bite of each and found myself wishing I had chosen what they ordered! I highly recommend the Country Cottage Restaurant!

We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food served in this restaurant and the surrounding area overlooking a golf course. Recommendations from our server have been made delicious! My only disappointment is that I had not made a room for dessert for different cakes in the house. Very recommended!!

I was there Tuesday afternoon and had early dinner. Pork chop applesauce, baked potato, etc. Pork chop was so thin overcooked it was difficult to cut! Would have been difficult to cut a pork chop any thinner?.! Vegetables were cold. Coffee was lukewarm. But the baked potato was warm and nicely done. Have come here for years and have always found the food to be quite good. Not this time! Sad! Serving person was attentive and did her job well.
