Bidrage med feedbackBaby face came highly recommended by neighbouring restaurants. I was really looking forward to my business meeting on an early Friday night. Made the booking early in the week. Lost count of how many times I was contacted to make sure we were still coming. I don't a mind a follow up or confirmation, but c'mon. We ordered the following to share: raw kingfish, duck spring rolls and the pork chop.Kingfish - past room temperature and was bland. I would question the freshness of the fish and/or how it's handled.Duck spring rolls - excellent, crunchy and flavoursome. Best dish of the night.Pork chop - cooked well but all I could taste was salt and nothing else. Now I don't mind paying for a good meal, but I have to say I felt like I didn't get value for money and the culinary experience which came so highly recommended. I wouldn't expect that the best dish of the night would be deep fried.I'm not interested in trying this place again even if it is was complementary.
To all the previous reviewers, always complaining about portion size, value, layout... one day, Wollongong will understand . There is so much work, creativity, risky flavours and combinations, chase of Australian unusual wines ..this is called passion . I hope you will ever understand this gorgeous world . Well done Babyface for providing us with your unique experience. Hope you guys will be around for more than a decade !
First time visit to this establishment. Food was very tasty, although we felt the menu could be more expansive. Ended up doubling up on some mains to get enough food for the four of us.... serves are on the small side. Service was quite good, but we were very surprised for a Saturday night to have beer and wine selections not being available, and to have one dessert to chose from at the end of the meal. For the price point this place did not hit the mark.
Food was lovely, service too, entree of Sashimi was great, Wagyu brilliant, but finished on the Kingfish which disappointed, was tough.Fine dining prices for no tablecloths, freezing cold space, and portions not fulfilling. For over $200 for 2 people in Wollongong with only one person having 2 drinks, expectations are high, and sadly Babyface didn't fulfil. Portion size too small for nearly $30 per plate and main $38. Off to grab a second dinner now :/
Was nice, expensive and the meals weren't that large, had a nice wine there though. Was a bit exotic for some of the family
