Lionsheart Bookshop Café - Woking

The cakes are mostly vegan but do check. Coffee is delicious, helpful friendly staff, much better than the chain coffee places

Lionheart had been open about 6 months when I went in early November 2021. I love having an independent bookshop in the local area and one which has great vegan cake and loose leaf tea! I had the carrot cake which was amazing! And a pot of loose leaf tea, which was also great. I got a cinnamon ring doughnut to take away, which I ate later; it was good but not as good as the cake. I'm looking forward to going back to try more cake flavours! My timing was unlucky because it seems a Sunday morning christening at a nearby church had just finished and the place filled up. The staff and kitchen could not cope with the sudden influx of orders. The toasties in particular were a problem. Other people were having to wait for a long time. I waited even longer (but it was okay because I could sit and read the book I had just bought! . It turned out they had forgotten that part of my order. Once they realised, the place had emptied out quite a bit and I think mine was the only order in the kitchen but it still took a surprisingly long time for my toasties to be prepared. The wait wasn't really worth it either; the toastie was quite good but nothing I'd rush to have again. The staff were great though and clearly working their socks off to try and keep up. I will definitely return but in future I will probably just stick to cake!

Amazing coffee enjoyed a super frothy oat latte and a carrot cake. All the cakes are vegan apart from 2 and there's a fantastic selection of biscuits, cookies, slices of cake, flapjacks and mini bakes. Apparently soon to be serving toasties too. Chilled friendly atmosphere in a lovely independent bookshop. Actively encouraged to take your time, read a book and enjoy your drink lots of loose leaf teas too. Thoroughly enjoyed my coffee break this morning.

I enjoyed a pleasant coffee break at this place. They offer vegan milk options and delicious pastries, although I didn't try any. The coffee was delightful, and the atmosphere inside was really lovely.

At Lionheart cafe, customers can enjoy options such as oat and soy milk, vegan cakes and cookies, and a vegan pesto, roasted red pepper, and rocket toastie or bagel for lunch.
