Bidrage med feedbackThis seems to have been a very early addition to the JDW chain. I remember my father talking about it and he's been gone for a good few years now. When I finally got round to visiting, I was impressed by the choice of beers and the prices. If you're not too fussy about the food, it has to be one of the best places to have a meal and a drink over lunchtime or mid-afternoon. For later on drinking, it isn't really the right atmosphere any more. Since our first visit, as harumscarum has pointed out, it hasn't been redecorated, updated or anything similar. A little disappointing really, but still extremely good value.
Hoylake Lights is one of the Wetherspoons chain of pubs. They have the usual deals that happen in weatherspoons, plus all the cheap food nights such as curry club, steak club etc. where its about £5 for a meal and a soft drink/glass of wine/pint of beer which is a great deal. The pub itself has not been done out as far as I can tell since it opened and there is a lot of wood everywhere. The bar is big and as its a Wetherspoons it is usually really busy most nights but Jam packed on Saturdays and Fridays as it is a good place to drink before getting the train to Liverpool.
