Slappy's Chicken - Winston-Salem

We took on LAST Friday, they were open before they decided to remodel them to celebrate my Nabeby's birthday dinner at home. It was a terrible rainy day, but I called to make this order, I was greeted with the sunny, warm service. I told him it was my birthday and I ordered Slappys to enjoy the first time. They entertained me when I relished how I had her food many times and was excited to see what my Hubby would think of the chicken. They thought it was adorable, but also a funny coincidence, because it was the last day they wanted to be open so that we came in the time as if it were fate. Anyway, they let me know that I wrapped the family meal, consisting of a whole dipped chicken, two sides, and rolls separately from all the others to soggy to avoid for $25. What a great value! Because of the distance from my house, they suggested that I have the sauce on the side, so it is not soggy from the heat and time that it travels for us to really enjoy it. I'm glad we did this. The chicken remained very crispy and we dipped every bite into the sauce that she packed for us. My Hubby was pleasantly surprised by the unique spices and taste of the sauce, while the sides were also excellent. The Mac and the cheese were nicely baked and the potato salad had generous sprinkles of bacon bits in it. Definitely the best help for comparable BBQ joints I had elsewhere in the area. When it reappears, my Hubby is excited to try the chicken completely the next time!

We stopped last night when Co-workers saved it. There are not many options on the menu, but their fried chicken tasted great! The sauce was unique, not too spicy, but it has a kick! Not bad for $8.99 meal.

I have been hearing about Slappy's Chicken and finally got a chance to try it myself. It has been voted best chicken in Winston-Salem several times and it did not dissapoint. Their chicken is covered in their signature sauce which they say is the perfect balance of heat and sweet and it really is. You can get your chicken without the sauce but I don't know why you would. Between myself and family we tried all the sides. I personally was a huge fan of the mac and cheese, but they were all good. Ask for extra napkins, you will need them.

Holy chicken! This place is great! I will definitely come back. The sauce is so delicious and the chicken is fried very well. I got double collard greens as my side. My partner got the baked beans in addition. We are satisfied customers for sure.

I came on 10/12/20 for lunch with some staff. Inside was closed, but we could sit outside on a picnic table. The staff wore mask and they have shields around the register. The chicken was crispy and good. Her famous sauce is both sweet and spicy. The more I ate, the more I tasted spicy Versus sweet. I'm not a fan of spicy dishes. It wasn't bad. They give you a chance to have the sauce on the side. The collars and beans were okay, not the best. The staff was friendly. It didn't take long to get our food and there were 5 of us.
