Bidrage med feedbackCongratulations on coming back to business after the unfortunate breakdown of the oven. Not mentioning the great taste of pastries, the atmosphere of the store, friendly service, and the smell of freshly baked bread give me sense of peace. Thank you.
I rarely ever write reviews, but this place was so good that I had to write one. The pastries were amazing, some of the best I've ever had. Some may say that they're a bit pricey, but you literally get what you pay for. The quality is really good. I can't wait to go there again and try more of their things.
Tried this Taro Coconut Brioche from Them, it's sooooo good! I haven't tried such tasty buns since I came to Winnipeg. It's reminds me of the best breads I had back in China a few years ago.
Living in Winnipeg The Thaw is always welcome. It signals the end of winter and the arrival of spring and more enjoyable weather. Well, now Winnipeg can enjoy the thaw year round. I’m talking about The Thaw French Bakery which opened last December on Pembina Highway, just north of MacGillvray Avenue.
Very cute bakery shop. I dropped by for the matcha brioche, black truffle focaccia, and taro coconut bun. <br/ <br/ I love the matcha brioche as it is fluffy and the crunch on the outside just makes it that much better. My only complaint would be that the photo (in stores) shows more matcha cream than there really is. My brioche was quite hallow inside with only a thin layer of cream. The taro coconut pastry is also very good as there is a generous amount of coconut and it is not overly sweet. <br/ <br/ I didn't enjoy the black truffle focaccia very much, and neither did the rest of my family. I think the brothwell cheese on top is too overwhelming for my liking. In this case, unlike the matcha bun, I really did not enjoy the crunch on top. <br/ <br/ Overall, I would come here again and I hope to try their croissants next! <br/ <br/
