Bidrage med feedbackWe meet here on a semi regular basis with a few friends for early light dinner, or just coffee. Friendly staff, freshly made sandwiches and salads, good coffees.
It was 845pm and after 5 nights at the beautiful Fort Garry hotel in the heart of Winnipeg, my wife and I were out for a walk. I had a hankering for a coffee based on some late night writing and radio interviews I had on my agenda. I had on my to do in the evening...We entered in for a quick coffee to go - open sign on and with still 12 minutes before closing, we figured we were in luck. But no, that wasn't the case...Instead we were greeted with a we're closed now'. We were a bit taken aback thinking they said we'll be closing soon'. that must be what they meant to say, right? Nope.'We've put everything away', we're closed now'.No apology. Just that. And they turned and walked away - while leaving the neon open sign marked open - note picture below.Of course, with the signage reading clearly that they are opened until 9pm. guess they should update it and they're online listings to read open until 8:48pm (most nights - or at least Monday's). Anyway, just out of principle I had to write this review. Even though it pains me to do so. I love to catch people doing great things - especially after 18 years in retail. But I'm afraid this establishment may not be around much longer if they don't figure out the service piece of 'customer service'.Anyway, adieu for now-. Coach Moose
They didn't make a fantastic latter but it was still nice. Like starbucks quality. Ordered 4 macaroons and it was like $10 for TINY ones.
Locally owned but caters to a select crowd - which are probably the same people that will go to Starbucks across the street but will eat here only to be seen! Sandwiches served with sprouts and organic herbs - what can I say!
The coffee scene in Winnipeg has undergone significant change in recent years. Not too long ago, options were limited to mostly chain cafes in town. Late-night options for coffee and dessert were primarily found in Osborne Village and a few scattered locations.
