Khao House - Winnipeg

We never imagined serving Asian fusion at our wedding but we are so thrilled that we did! We initially sampled several more traditional and BBQ style dishes from several caterers in Winnipeg and surrounding areas but we didn’t feel like anything was worth the price that was being charged and/or the food made us feel rather heavy afterwards. We had several older guests that were very much the classic ‘meat and potatoes’ type so it was important to satisfy everyone. Since we were anticipating a hot summer wedding, we wanted something light and fresh while still satisfying our guests’ bellies and making them feel great to dance the night away afterwards. Well Khao House nailed it and the price was more than right, I actually feel like they should have charged more! They served naem khao (crispy coconut rice with lettuce wraps), somen noodle salad (cold noodle w/ tomato, edamame, greens, crispy noodle, sesame dressing), warm miso potato salad (w/ corn, bacon and snap peas), Chinese BBQ chicken (5 spiced with hoisin sauce, grilled green onion and herbs), and for a vegetarian option they served stuffed portabella mushrooms. Guests are still raving about the food and asking where they can buy more, even the ‘meat and potato’ eaters! It was unique but not so over the top that more traditional guests still enjoy the new experience, in fact, they’re amongst the new customers of Khao House! Korene was amazing and easy to work with! She is kind, thoughtful, and put a lot of effort to personalize the service. We couldn’t have hired a better caterer! Even if you don’t have an event to book, you gotta try their food, check them out at The Good Will 625 Portage Ave. Thank you Korene and Randy, you two make delicious food, never stop!

Came here for lunch during the week, the atmosphere was relaxing and the service was good. We had the best iced coffee! The pho and steamed buns were delicious. Will definitely come back!

The ever changing menu always has us coming back! My partner and I love this spot. The pork buns are absolutely dynamite, our other favourites are the fried chicken and the khao soi.

Khao house is fantastic! The stemmed pork buns and sour pork crispy rice balls are must haves. Ramen and fried chicken are also unbelievable, and if you like spice the chilli oil is my favourite in the city. Super friendly service all around great restaurant. Favourite new addition to west Broadway.

Service is always great , food is delicious, hot and can tell its made with pure love !! My go to is the kalapao and the spicy ramen they are the bomb.comKeep up the good work Khaohouse
