Centro Caboto Centre - Winnipeg

Bread, not a salad bar, just salad with very few fixings, tomato soup, pieces of chicken which were red near the bone, roasted potato wedges, and only one not very good pasta dish. Coffee extra.The whole buffet is not very good, and they should be ashamed charging that kind of money for what they call a buffet!

I recently had a gathering of about 50 people and decided that I would have it catered. I decided on Italian cuisine and started looking around for a caterer within my budget. I decided on the Caboto Center. They provided great advise on how much food to order and what to order. I even met with the chef who explained what the food was and how it is made. I ended up ordering cannalonni, manicotti and penne primavera. Because the number of guests increased I added to my order at the last minute without a problem.> The food was absolutely delicious and a number of people wanted to know where I ordered from. Not only was it delicious, the food was piping hot when delivered. I have nothing but good things to say about the service I received from the Caboto Center staff. A fantastic display of culture and history, such a diverse centre - used for education, community connections and even a show case of tastey Italian cuisine. Welcoming to all, even those who do not speak Italian or are not familiar with the culture. Amazing portion of the community, for sure a gem!

Last night I was at the centre on March 19. took them 20 minutes to bring the soup sure enough they didn't have enough for everybody.So they decide somehow they make something which taste like water not soup (obviously they knew that). And they had a choice between fish and chicken(before you had to pick). Very rudely basically they say they don't have fish. Of course you're sitting with your family and friends and you cannot say anything about it. And they didn't have enough food for everybody. Since they didn't have food they made up some vegetarian food which you have no choice. that or nothing. I also talk to manager she didn't even care. I would definitely not recommend this place for anyone.(do not ruin your evening). Because they don't care how you enjoy your day they just think how much money they make.(of course this is one man opinion)

I recently had my wedding at the Caboto Centre - the hall is very nice and is easy to decorate to look great so in that sense the hall was nice. However I would not recommend to anyone to host their wedding or special event here due to the terrible service of their Sales & Catering Manager - Maria Rossol. She is truly the most unorganized person I have ever had to deal with. I am shocked she has a job in the service industry as she is not qualified. It was headache after headache trying to deal with this hall. They double booked our event, they served the wrong desert, and she couldn't answer any phone calls or emails in a timely manner and even if we did email her and she responded she would later completely forget the email ever came through and we had to go over everything again numerous times as she just couldn't get anything straight. Even at meetings she never had our file or contract handy so it was completely useless as she totally forgot everything we talked about as she didn't have her paperwork with her! I think this hall has potential to be a great wedding venue but they need to get a proper manager and proper event organizer hired. We also never got an invoice - they just expect you to pay without invoicing you?? It was all very strange and when inquiring about tier contract which stated payment due upon receipt of invoice she still didn't send an invoice just a mocked up contract without any payment information and just expects you to pay thousands of dollars without a proper invoice being sent! Such poor service. The serving staff also needs work - the dinner took an extremely long time to be served - from the time we got our salad to the time we got our dinner had to wait over 45 minutes. They didn't even have our bread or wine on the table when dinner started took a long time and in the end my day of coordinator I hired to deal with this hall ended up running around serving wine so people weren't waiting. . If Maria is still there I advise you to stay far away so that you can have a more enjoyable wedding without the headache.
