Winzercafe Zap Zur Alten Post

Coming down from a hike in the incredible vineyards here, I sat at this lovely cafe and ordered water and wine, and then Jägerschnitzel with kroketten and salat, all delicious. This cafe sits at the bottom of a blocked off alley with a fountain near this cafe, and then several other outside cafes up the curved alley. Grape vines grow across the streets, and the ever-present geranium boxes decorate the windows and doorways of buildings that date back to the middle ages. Don't like witches? Don't go to Winningen, where the locals have revered the "wine witch" Katherine for making delicious wine. This town is home to no less than 10 wineries, and this restaurant's wine list reflects local offerings. I tried some with names I recognized from the vineyards I had just hiked!

I went there for lunc. Got a very good and cheap flammkuche. My vife bought scnitchelþ The service was good and fast. The food was good and dont expencive

Good wines from the region, as well fruity white and rubin reds. where locals meet visitors. Nice atmosphere.
