Neros Steakhouse - Windsor

Excellent dinner! our waiter Adam was great! we ordered steak and lobster... steak was perfectly seasoned, stopr salat was excellent m. the evening meal had gone well. we wanted to see a show and everything was good with the timing. they would be highly recommended!

First time being at Nero’s for a birthday was an experience. The food is impeccable. The service wasn’t matched. Table of 6, we felt like a burden to our server. Sensed tension and attitude in his tone, which dampened the evening. Dessert also wasn’t offered. We were all questioning what was wrong and why it felt that way, just takes away from the experience and enjoyment which was unfortunate. I’d recommended the food, especially the truffle Mac and cheese… Just maybe another server next time lol

The service was amazing, however the food was very bland for a steak house. They had sauce on the side I assume to help the steak come to life, but the sauce was not even that good. I honestly believe I could have made a better seasoned steak. This was the same review for my table and we had the filet, rib eye, and strip. We also had one person have the fish, which she did not like. But I will give benefit of the doubt and that she was not familiar with that type of fish.

For an upscale steakhouse you’d expect something special. They didn’t have a single bone-in option on the menu, the steak was grilled instead of pan seared, and it was served with some sort of BBQ sauce. Pretty boring tasting. Almost like it was just a piece of meat with salt and pepper thrown on a flame. I’ve never had a proper upscale steakhouse (in USA) serve me my steak with BBQ sauce. It’s not necessary when it’s prepared correctly. That’s some backyard grill type stuff. The cut of meat was great and it was not over or undercooked. The truffle Mac and cheese was also great.

Nice clean place nice atmosphere just wasn’t worth the money…our bill was $406.00 for two of us (2 bottles of $40 wine with tip). Double what I spend at the keg and no better food but nicer place. The topper was no prime rib on a Friday night at 7pm!! Won’t be back!
