El Mayor Bakery - Windsor

The food quality at El Mayor is consistently outstanding. While their prices are a bit higher than a typical Lebanese restaurant, I believe they still offer great value for what you get. My only complaint is that they serve the best French fries in Windsor, but during the pandemic, they were only available for takeout. As we all know, packaging and delivery can sometimes compromise the quality of fries.

The Lebanese food here is fairly good! We ordered the shawarma plate and the mixed BBQ plate. The BBQ plate was fantastic, especially when paired with the garlic sauce. The shawarma plate was enjoyable, although the meat could have been a bit juicier. The mango juice was delightful! I agree with other reviews that the prices are on the higher side.

First of all, amazing food, ordered the chicken shawarma plate and roasted leg of lamb and they are both good. The leg of lamb could have used more seasoning but it was roasted to perfection where the meat just fell off the bone. Three stars is purely for how I felt. The plate came with garlic sauce and a side of pita, and when I saw the quarter of a crunchy pita sitting on top of the chicken, I was like okay maybe that's just what the restaurant think how a side of pita should look like. So I asked to add a side of soft pita (because I LOVE PITA), and the lady quickly brought me a basket of plastic wrapped pita that is on every table except for mine, noted that when I arrived the restaurant we were the only table. I just can't help but think that, what if they don't serve nor even ask if I want pita because they just assumed I won't appreciate pita, because literally every table has a basket of it, unless everyone happened to ask for it but I doubt it, because as I left the restaurant I noticed a table has water and pita on their table before their food even arrives. So yea despite the food tasting really good, the meal left me feeling slightly bitter.
