Old School Grill - Windham

Fun and AMAZING the atmosphere is basic with advertising art and sports logos on the walls with a large well stocked bar in the center but the food is classy, upscale, expertly prepared and DELICIOUS! They also have plenty of smiling waitresses and a really great outside patio. So to summarize they are nicely comfortable with well above average food.

Went on 5/24/23 and was disappointed. We were a party of 4, ordered 2 appetizers that never arrived. I ordered a burger well Don, but it’d rare. Asked the waitress to send it back and cook it well. It came out the second time but was still very pink in the middle. My party was done eating by the time the waitress came back, so I asked her to show the kitchen my burger was STILL underdone and remove it from the bill. When the bill came we saw they charged us for the 2 appetizers they never delivered! We brought it to the attention of the waitress, who was wondering who was missing their food! Ridiculous! She did remove the undelivered food from our bill, but the whole experience was unacceptable. At the very least they should have sent the manager to apologize. And this was on a Wednesday how bad is the service on a weekend? I grabbed fast food on the way home NOT recommended.

Dave was an amazing server. He was honest, nice, funny, and charming. He knew the menu inside and out and was able to recommend the perfect dish for me. He was also very fast and efficient in his work. I would highly recommend trying to make sure Dave is your server to anyone who is looking for an exceptional dining experience at the old school bar and grill! Also try the Bavarian pretzels! Although the pretzels arnt home made the béchamel beer cheese is a must have!

We are very frequent customers but Friday before Mother’s Day, hub and I taking my mom for the Prime Rib special. Everyone left work early in hopes of getting in early and a bit less noisy. The entire main dining room was closed. It was getting quite breezy out and we hadn’t dressed for outdoor seating, and the only indoor seating available was high top tables. Meanwhile all the regular dining tables and booths were empty. Since you can’t make reservations we hadn’t called ahead. Disappointing to realize the whole dining room gets shut down. I gave 4 stars cuz we love it so much. Also it was rather awkward for my Mom with three hostesses just looking at each other and discussing that my elderly Mom didn’t want to sit outside and “couldn’t get up” in the high booths. Was hoping Old School was going to be more multi gen family oriented but I guess it’s leaning toward young boisterous bar crowd. We left, frustrated and without an answer on how we could determine if the dining room would or wouldn’t be open if we came again.

Old School is a great and fun atmosphere. They are friendly, welcoming, and staffs are very attentive. Great service. Their food and portion sizes are outstanding. I would highly recommend Old School if you like American style food and a local area to come with friends and have a good time. I always have an excellent experience when I go to Old School Bar Grill.
