Mario's Tuscany Grill - Winchester

I ordered takeout so the in-person experience may be different but regardless of that I'm still just feeling meh about this place. Pizza is alright, nothing particularly crazy, got a couple other apps and same thing, just alright. Guy on the phone was a bit rude. Picked up the phone, asked me for my order but apparently was talking to someone in person instead of just keeping me on hold, and then when I made the order just gave me the coldest rude responses. For the prices of stuff in this town you'd expect a little more for service which is the bare minimum. Might one of these days try again in person but overall wasn't impressed again for pizza here, same with most of Winsted pizza if I'm being honest

Stumbled upon this place after a long day of work with my husband. We were starving and just googled a place near by in Winsted. Not really sure how I wanted to rate this place so I gave them a three star. The place was inviting and located in a very cute spot on the main road. When we walked in, everyone was busy so they couldn't greet us right away. Finally, a gentlemen said we could seat ourselves. We picked a booth by the bar. I really enjoyed this entire space. Not too small, not too big, it was the perfect size. Full bar, about six decent size TVs on the wall. Our waitress was very nice, came to the table during our time there so she definitely did her job. I'm a pizza lover to the extreme so being in a new Italian Grill I had to try the pizza. The only thing that disappointed me was that when the pizza came out the bottom of it was slightly burnt so every bite I took, I tasted the burnt bottom so it was kind of ruining my taste and I was really trying to taste that cheese. It looked good. I'm a New Yorker by heart so I love pizzas you can fold so it had the perfect fold. With that being said, Burning the bottom made that taste in my mouth so I couldn't really tell if it was good enough. I was observing the room while eating and I noticed staff calling customers by their name so they seemed to get a lot of regulars there. They were getting busy around 5:30p and the bar was active. Overall it was a pleasant experience, but maybe I'll try something else on the menu. As I mentioned, I wasn't sure how to rate this place. People and personalities were a little dry, but nice.
